I almost forgot...Taylor Finally Popped a Tooth!

How could I forget to post that. When we woke up yesterday, Taylor had her first tooth popping through! It's her bottom left and you can barely see it at all. Trying to look at it or show anyone is like you are trying to hurt her. She absolutely WILL NOT let you! So, obviously I can't post a picture :( We get a little peek when she smiles really big. This is so exciting because we have been waiting for a long time to see this tooth! Now we are just waiting for the next. Tomorrow morning she goes for her 9 month check up so we will see how that goes.

Good Websites

A couple of my friends have commented that they are going to make some hairbows or already have. Well, I found some pretty good websites with instuctions on how to make a couple of bows. I thought I'd post them for anyone who wants them...
I think they call this a corker bow... ( there are others, but they are all pretty much the same)

Ideas for Finger Foods

So Taylor has decided that doesn't really care for baby food too much anymore. She wants to be feeding herself and she wants what I have to eat. I need to some ideas of finger foods for her. Anybody got any good ones????

Today at the Park

We took Taylor to the park today because it was beautiful outside. She was in la-la land the whole time. She was about to go down for a nap and she was out of it. I don't think she ever smiled, but she wasn't fussy, just enjoying the outside air.

The Crab Pot

My mom and Robert took me to The Crab Pot in Long Beach for my birthday. The restaurant is in the best spot right on the marina. It was so pretty there. The food was good, but it's mostly seafood. We ordered buckets of food that they dump onto the table. Then we took pictures out on the end of the dock and it was so pretty, the sun was just setting.

A Couple More Bows

So, now I'm hooked on making bows! I made two more tonight. Here they are. I think I am hooked because I am making them for outfits that don't have a bow to match and it's fun.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and I am now 28. It was a busy day because I had to work, but Taylor and Jimmy to me to Red Lobster last night for dinner. We are going to do something fun this weekend and I will post it. I did get a special delivery at work from Jimmy's mom. It's called a Strawberry Margarita and it was adorable and I wish I could say it was delicious, but it wasn't edible. Here's a picture... Thanks Toni!

More Hair Clips

These are a couple more bows I made tonight. They were a little harder because I didn't really know what to do! I made them, but I need to prefect them. One that I made I can't show because it came out very weird looking. I thought these two were bloggable. The process was kind of weird because you put the ribbon in the oven and it makes it curly.

I used kabob skewers and scrapbooking clothespins to hold the ribbon on.

This was the tiny ribbon and I used toothpicks and tiny clothespins.

Hair Clips

I made hair clips today for Taylor and it was much cheaper than the ones I got at Nordstrom yesterday. Tawny had told me about the ones at Target and I bought them about two weeks ago I think. I really only used 2 out of the whole pack, light pink and dark pink, and they are both now lost. I have no idea what happens to hair bows, but they disappear. It could be that Taylor notices them now and pulls them out and drops them places, or, I really don't know??? So, I was looking around online and I found this tutorial for how to make these clips. So, I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought the pack of clips for $2.19 and came home and made them with all of the ribbon I already have (which is a ton). Then, I was getting really excited because they were turning out and I was out of ideas and time. Some of the bow ideas I borrowed from Krista who has made Taylor some headbands before and the others I just saw somewhere or came up with on my own. So here are what I made so far and by the way they really are easy to make :)
Two of these are for two specific outfits that none of Taylor's bows match. Isn't that a good deal... $2.19 for all of these? I might be taking the three bows I bought yesterday for $18 dollars back!!

Alison Tagged Me

So, Alison tagged me and I actually have a chance to play along. I had to go to the fourth folder, fourth picture in my computer pictures. I was excited to see it was a picture I thought was so cute. It is down at the bottom because I don't know how to get them in the right order. It's a picture of her feet at six weeks in her first pair of shoes that I bought for her. They were so cute and she also had ruffly little pink socks on. The story behind the shoes is that I bought them at the end of my pregnancy when Jimmy and I and Gage went to Lake Aroowhead for our anniversary and last little getaway before Taylor was born. There is a little children's store up there and I just had to get them. So, it reminded me of our trip, so here are a few pictures.

There's my belly three weeks before I had her. I really don't even remember my belly being that big. How quickly I have forgotten what that felt like!

This is the actual picture for the game. These shoes were still so big that they kept falling right off. Then her feet grew and she never even wore them and they were too small.

New Year's In the Mountains

We went back to the muntains for New Year's with our family. We rented a cabin right across the street from my aunt's. It was different than the one stayed in on Thanksgiving weekend, but still perfect for what we needed. We got there New Year's Eve and Tyalor went to sleep in her pack and play around 7:45 and then woke up around 8:45 and then again at about 10. She then decided she would just stay awake and celebrate the new year. So, at about 1:00 in the morning she finally decided that she partied enough to go to sleep. It wasn't so bad since we were all awake anyway. I just couldn't believe she was able to stay awake! The boys made sledding trails with my Uncle Gordon's snow blower until about 1:00 am. The next day we woke up, got ready and played in the snow. We really all sledded and played! I don't think I have done that since I was like ten. Luckily Taylor took a long nap (she needed to catch up on the 4 hours she missed) while we were outside. Once she woke up, Jimmy took her sledding. She really didn't mind the cold at all. She was bundled up, but she liked being outside.

At the end of the day. Everyone was so tired.

Chai Tea

Genn's mom Kristin posted a recipe for me on her blog for Chai Tea. I made it and took it to the mountains and it was a hit! Everyone loved it. We even added a little Bailey's Irish Cream to it and it was so good. I am going to be passing your recipe on to other family members. Thanks again Kristin!
