Taylor's First Christmas

Our Christmas was fun with Taylor, but I was sick :(. Christmas Eve for my family was at my house this year and I have been looking forward to it for a couple of months because I didn't have to pack Taylor up, when it was bedtime I could put her down and have a Christmas cocktail or martini and hang out. So did not happen as planned!! I ended up with a mixture of the flu and a cold on Christmas Eve day around 2:00. Jimmy had to work a half day, so he got home and finished getting everything together while I rested. That morning I had gotten a bunch of stuff ready and I kept thinking to myself...I don't feel that great, but it will pass, I'm probably just tired from running around. It never passed, it only got worse! In the end, when my family started to arrive, I was lying in bed feeling really bad and bummed out. Luckily, my sister had given me the recipes for some things I made, so when she got here, she finished it all up. Thanks for pulling it all off Jenna and Jimmy. I got some energy to come down for a while and poor Jimmy was drenched with sweat, he was running aorund everywhere and everyone was asking him where everything was and he was taking care of Taylor who was being a little fussy! I hope everyone had a good time. I wasn't around long. Once Taylor went down, I snuck back upstairs and went back to bed. One of the worst parts... I didn't even get to eat all of the good food. I do have leftovers that I am going to eat today.
This was a couple nights before. She was all ready for Christmas!

Santa came to our house and Taylor wasn't afraid of him. She liked him.

The one picture of me on that night. This was when Taylor was begging to go to bed (meltdown).

Christmas morning. Santa got Taylor this cute learning toy, but the only part she likes is the pan for the stove. I think she'll like it more in a couple months.

This was a hit. Santa also brought her this and she LOVES riding around in it.

On Christmas we just hung out at my mom's. I mostly laid on the couch because I still didn't feel well.
Matching hats
On Friday, Jimmy's family came over and Taylor got to play with Teagan.
Then we went on a walk in the buggy.
One more little thing, Taylor doesn't army crawl anymore. Last Sunday when she woke up, she just did the normal crawl. Now, everyday, she is going farther and farther and faster. It's so cute to watch!

Taylor has been busy!!!

Taylor is 8 months old now and she has learned so MANY things in the last week and a half. I can't believe it. It seems like everyday she has learned something new. So, it started last Monday when she could army crawl and get to anything she wanted. Then, she started to shake her head "no" when she doesn't want food or the bottle, she can easily get from lying down to sitting up, she stands in her crib and on anything she can pull up on (toys, couch, us, ottoman) all the time, she fake coughs if you cough and she hears you, and she is waving. It's like she saved up all these tricks and she's showing them all off to us now. Everything has been so exciting to see, except for the fact that she now stands in her crib and does lots of things in there instead of going to sleep. Then she usually falls and bumps her head, then she cries, so she's even more awake to play more. I am hoping that the newness will wear off soon. Last night she only played for about 30 minutes before she got tired and fell asleep. I can hear her and see her on the monitor, she is BUSY getting up and down, rolling around, pounding on the crib, yanking on the mobile (which I need to take out) and talking to herself.

Mission Inn and Santa Clause

A little over a week ago we went to the Mission Inn to see all of the lights. Jimmy or I had never been...it was so pretty. It wasn't that crowded when we went because it was a Thursday. While we were there we saw Santa and Taylor did really good. I thought for sure she would freak out because she doesn't like anyone to hold her, but she got really happy at first and then she was just really confused. She stared at him for while, but we were able to get a little smile.

This was when we were about to leave. She was so excited to see Santa in her Santa shirt.

Family Pictures @ Laguna Beach

Two weeks ago we went to take some family pictures at the beach. Anna took us to a really pretty spot and we got a lot of great pictures. There is a whole CD full, but I'll just post a few of my favorites.

They were in their True Religion jeans that their grandma bought for them! Taylor's lucky because I wouldn't buy those for her :)

Taylor wasn't the happiest baby at the beach. She wanted to be playing in the sand, but WOW, sand is a mess. At one point she had it all over her hand and then she sucked her thumb, so it was all in her mouth. Anyway, she knows what sand tastes like now!

Finally Off Work!!!

I am finally off of work for two weeks. This break is much needed! Now I can finally catch up on all the important things I need to do like blog :) Taylor is sitting right here next to me in her high chair, and I am finding all different things to keep her entertained, so I can blog.

Taylor Says "No"

Here is another new thing that Taylor does all the time. I don't think she has any idea what it means, but she does it when she doesn't want something, so it seems like she knows. Jimmy and I crack up every time she does this. It seems like everday she is doing something new and all we do is try to get her to do them...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Taylor's doing the Army Crawl!!!

Yesterday Taylor figured out how to really move. Then, today she was even faster and better. I am so excited :) I know everyone tells me that it's hard when they start getting around, but it's so cute to watch her figure it all out. I filmed a little clip on my cell phone so you can see...

Isn't this what they call the army crawl? I know it's not the hands and knees crawl??

Arrowbear

Friday morning we headed up to Arrowbear. It's a cute little mountain town where my Aunt and Uncle have a cabin. We rented the cabin across the street. My sister and I pretty much need our own cabin with the amount of baby stuff you have to bring on a trip. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone and Taylor slept really well while we were there, so that always helps. On Saturday we went up to Big Bear to walk around. We had the nicest weather, unfortunately no snow, just a cool breeze. It was fun to get Taylor bundled up!
There she is in her new Uggs.

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at my mom's with our family. This is a picture of Emma, Taylor and Gavin. Taylor ate a little bit of bread, mashed potaotes, and baby food. Yum, Yum!

Still No Crawling

Taylor isn't crawling yet, but she is getting around! She sees something that she wants and she twists and turns, and does rolls, anything she can to get to where she needs to go. This is where she ended up the other day while I was busy in the kitchen.
She is almost eight months old now and I can hardly believe it. She holds her own bottle, shakes her head "no" a lot, whines whenever she sees me eat anything because she wants a little piece, takes much longer naps everyday, grabs the dog every chance she gets, and is finally feeding herself puffs. For about a month she would not put puffs in her mouth, she would put everything else in her mouth except for puffs. Now she's getting really good at it.

Ballerina Baby

Some more pictures we took of Taylor in a tutu that my mom got her a while back. I thought she looked so cute if I can say so myself :)

Taking Pictures

I went and bought a black sheet at Wal Mart and took some pictures of Taylor. I'm still learning, but Jimmy and I were able to get some cute ones.

These pictures were another great idea I got from Tawny!

Clapping

Taylor claps now. She gets so excited everytime she does it!

New Jeans and New Shoes

So, I haven't really put jeans or shoes on Taylor yet. I just always want her to be comfy, so that usually is a one piece outfit with no shoes. But, I recently bought her shoes because I thought they were so adorable and she thinks they are chew toys! Then, I got her the cutest little jeans.
I love to take pictures while she sleeps. It's so much easier. This was after we shopped on my day off. I guess we shopped until she dropped. This is very unusual for Taylor to just fall asleep on the floor? I guess she was that tired.

Cute pockets on her jeans.

The shirt to go with the jeans..."sweeter than candy."

So cute!

Her new chew toys...HAHA
