Candy Apples

We made some candy apples today. I love to make them.  I made a few cute ones for Valentine's Day and Jimmy decorated a few to take to a Super Bowl party tomorrow.

Jimmy really decorated these himself! I think they turned out cute :)

Taylor and I did these.

Someone kept sneaking chocolate...

Can you tell?

Bath Time

I haven't taken pictures of Taylor in the bath in very long time. She is very busy in the bath now and tries to stay in for as long as she can. Here is how tonight went...

She's such a little girl now.

Don't mind all of the bruises and scrapes on her face. You would think she's abused, but really she falls a lot! The scratch happened during her nap this morning???

It's so funny to fling bubbles all over the bathroom according to Taylor.

She drinks bath water.

Kisses for her princess ducky.

Kisses for herself.

Bath for her ducky.

She loves to read books in the bath too.

I had to throw in some cute baby buns!

I took this without my LightScoop to see the difference. There is a big one. I can't wait until some of you get a LightScoop because it's kind of hard to figure out. I did all of the suggested settings and my pictures come out almost completely black. Then I switch my camera to auto and they come out much better but sometimes a little too dark, sometimes a little too blue, and sometimes they are just right. I am going to keep playing because I like what it does it just doesn't happen every time.

I got my LightScoop!!

This got delivered yesterday and I am very excited because I love it already and I hardly know what to do with it. I don't really know how to describe what it does to the color of the pictures, but it makes them look much better than the flash alone. I haven't had much time to play yet at all, but I took some of Gage last night. I used to think Taylor was hard to take pictures of, but so is the dog! He's afraid of my camera and would NOT let me take pictures. He kept getting up and running away...whatever!

This was before he figured out what I was doing. This is without the LightScoop.
(His tongue is usually out like this)

This is with it. I like it!
I am going to take a lot more pictures when Taylor wakes up....

If you buy one...buy it from Adorama because it's less than half price!

My way of making a basic bow...

This is for a couple of my girlfriends who wanted me to show them how to make these bows. I looked at a ton of tutorials online and got a good idea of how to make them, they just used measurements for everything, needle and thread for a lot of them, and a bunch of other details that I don't have the time or patience to do. So, this is how I figured out how to make them my way. Because I eyeball the ribbon and measurements, they aren't perfect, but they work for me :) I am going to try to explain this the best I can. Jimmy took pictures of me making the bow because I thought it might help to see it and it would help me to explain... Here goes...
This is what I start with. One ribbon for the actual bow, one really skinny one to tie it with, and another one to cover the skinny one at the end. *Cut two of the main ribbon the same size if you are making two. Made the mistake of not doing that too many times and having to guess for the second bow.*

You need to loop the ribbon so that you end up with two loops and a tail on each side.

Once you have the loops, you fold them back and forth through the middle. It usually takes me three little folds.

I put a clothes pin to hold the folds in the middle of the ribbon so I can tie it really tight with the skinny ribbon.

Tie the skinny ribbon really tight so that it will stay good when you remove the clothes pin.

I double knot it in on the backside of the bow.

Take the clothes pin off and you should be able to see the basic shape of the bow.

The ribbon that you had at the beginning for covering up the skinny ribbon (sorry if I am confusing you!)... I usually tie that in a little knot and wrap it around the skinny ribbon in the middle.

I tie that one really tight too. Sometimes I don't tie it, I glue it with hot glue. Either way works.

That's what the back of the bow will look like before trimming everything.

I trim all of those pretty short so that they don't show through the front.

Last, I trim the little tails on the front of the actual bow.

And here it is!!

I really hope that was helpful and not just confusing. Please tell me if I confused you at any part and I will try to clarify.

All Dressed Up

This was Taylor all dressed up on Friday night. So cute to watch her put all of the jewelry, shoes, and glasses on and then take it all back off. Then, do it all over again about ten times.

Welcome Twins and Happy Birthday Teagan!

We have had a very busy weekend...the kind that really make you want to take the day off tomorrow, but I can't! Taylor and I went to a baby shower for these little guys, The Liso Twins, on Saturday. They are on my mind a lot these days. It was fun to see their mommy get showered with love and all the things she will need for them.

Today we went to a very fun birthday for Teagan. Taylor went and went non stop all day there. She was so tired when we left that she was asleep in less than five minutes after leaving. Happy Birthday Teagan!!

The  Sweet Birthday Girl!

First, Taylor got her face painted. We weren't sure if she was going to go through with it, but she was all about it! Loved it!

Then, she jumped her little heart out!...

They went down the big jumpy slides a bunch of times...

Taylor and Cousin Mattie...

Teagan pushed Taylor on a little tractor...

A little girl talk between cousins...

a ride in a Mustang...Taylor was the DJ and controlled the radio while Teagan drove...

...a ton of candy eaten by Taylor...

...a pinata...

...and then Taylor turned into a cowgirl...

no joke!

...watching the boys rope and ride goats...

A little kiss for the goat...

Then some more jumping on the trampoline. They had a lot of fun together today!

Cute picture of the Birthday Girl. Can you tell Taylor had a blast??
